I read a book called Influence: Science and Practice a few years ago. Fascinating book. Frightening, too. I've been taken advantage of by some of those tactics in that book, too. It's an eye opener, for sure.

I don't have the answers to the big questions either. I'm happy with that, too. But, I'm still curious and would love to know more. Also, science doesn't claim to know everything. Science only claims to uncover truth as best it can and admit where discoveries were wrong and say "I dunno" when we simply don't know.

I do think that god is often used to fill the gaps. I have a post called Pushed Out of the Picture which tries to express that idea, if you'd be interested in checking it out.

People who sell religion door to door can be the worst. They act like getting into heaven depends on their "commission". Just like a salesperson.Urukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05913837011380611461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3547195737073832993.post-72754685935821518912009-07-18T21:45:54.612-05:002009-07-18T21:45:54.612-05:00That's the thing with all the "Yes" ...That's the thing with all the "Yes" questions - they are very leading.

I don't have answers to most of the really BIG questions of life's origins, and, I'm OK with that.

But, to assume because I don't have an answer, goddidit is very misleading indeed.

The Lion is correct. They actually do "sell" door to door.
Think not?
Just hang out at home for a while, they'll come around....and yeah, it's a scam toomachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04073782907747032366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3547195737073832993.post-40843218835958944572009-07-18T18:52:24.159-05:002009-07-18T18:52:24.159-05:00"Perhaps we humans think that everything comp..."Perhaps we humans think that everything complex requires a creator because we are creators ourselves."

We do this for everything else so it would make sense that we personify the creator issues as well!

The reading example is great, Uruk. These guys really do use sleazy tactics. They are no better than door to door scam salesmen.Nicole Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07312823319201028951noreply@blogger.com
